- 1). Prepare a well-ventilated area by opening a window if your workspace is indoors. It will help prevent exposure to hazardous fumes from the chemical product.
- 2). Choose an industrial-grade adhesive remover that can safely be applied to the affected area. Most brands available in stores are fit for virtually all natural and household surfaces.
- 3). Read the instructions on the bottle for proper application of the product. Verify whether you should apply the adhesive remover directly onto to the construction glue or onto a cloth first.
- 4). Apply the instructed amount of the adhesive remover and allow it to soak the dried glue if necessary. Often, the solvent will begin to dissolve the adhesive right away and can be wiped away almost immediately.
- 5). Loosen the softened construction glue with a plastic scraper until it has been completely lifted from the surface. Simply apply more of the remover if any stubborn film persists.
