- Morning sickness can occur at any point during the day. This symptom is most likely to begin around week six of the pregnancy. For most women, it ends by the end of the first trimester, though it can continue the entire pregnancy.
- Morning sickness is believed to be caused by fluctuations of hormones in the woman's body during early pregnancy. Some women tolerate these hormone fluctuations better than others.
- According to the American Pregnancy Association, to ease the symptoms of morning sickness women should eat small meals often, exercise and avoid smells that bring on nausea.
- Not all women will experience morning sickness. If you are one who misses out on this early pregnancy symptom, consider yourself lucky and know that the intensity and frequency of morning sickness have no bearing on the health of the pregnancy.
