DIY Portable Isolation Booth

    • 1). Measure, mark and cut the following pieces of MDF with a measuring tape, pencil and circular saw: one piece measuring 4 feet by 4 feet, 3 pieces measuring 4 feet by 6 feet 4 inches, one piece measuring 3 feet 6 inches by 4 feet, three pieces measuring 6 feet by 3 feet 6 inches.

    • 2). Measure, mark and cut the following pieces of foam with a measuring tape, pencil and X-Acto knife: one piece measuring 4 feet by 4 feet, 3 pieces measuring 4 feet by 6 feet 4 inches, one piece measuring 3 feet 6 inches by 4 feet, three pieces measuring 6 feet by 3 feet 6 inches.

    • 3). Measure, mark and cut the following pieces of vinyl with a measuring tape, pencil and scissors: one piece measuring 4 feet by 4 feet, 3 pieces measuring 4 feet by 6 feet 4 inches, one piece measuring 3 feet 6 inches by 4 feet, three pieces measuring 6 feet by 3 feet 6 inches.

    • 4). Lay out all of the MDF pieces on a flat surface. Match the pieces of vinyl with the same sized panels. Spray adhesive on one panel at a time, lay the corresponding vinyl piece on top and smooth the vinyl onto the board with your hands to eliminate any wrinkles or bubbles. Allow the adhesive to dry.

    • 5). Pipe adhesive caulk around the edges of the vinyl. Allow the caulk to dry.

    • 6). Lay two pieces measuring 4 feet by 6 feet 4 inches next to each other to form side A. Lay two pieces measuring 3 feet 6 inches by 4 feet next to each other to form side B. Position the pieces so that the longer sides are aligned and the vinyl side is face up. Measure a distance of 6 inches from the top and bottom of the right pieces along the interior edge. Mark the measurements with a pencil.

    • 7). Lay hinges at the top and bottom so that the corresponding edge of the hinges align with the measurements from Step 2. Spread the panels apart until the interior edges align with the interior edges of the hinges. Secure the hinges to the panels with screws and a screwdriver.

    • 8). Lay one 3 feet 6 inch square next to a 4 foot by 6 foot piece to form top A. Lay one 4 foot square next to a 4 foot by 6 foot 4 inch piece to form top B. Position the pieces so that the short sides are aligned and the vinyl side is face up. Measure a distance of 6 inches from the top and bottom of the right pieces along the interior edge. Mark the measurements with a pencil.

    • 9). Lay hinges at the top and bottom so that the corresponding edge of the hinges align with the measurements from Step 4. Spread the panels apart until the interior edges align with the interior edges of the hinges. Secure the hinges to the panels with screws and a screwdriver.

      Lay out all of the attached pieces on a flat surface so that the hinges are underneath the MDF. Match the pieces of foam with the same sized panels. Spray adhesive on one panel at a time, lay the corresponding foam piece on top and gently press the foam onto the board. Allow the adhesive to dry.

      Stand up side A with a 90 degree angle. Arrange top A to form a box with an open bottom and side. The boards will be resting against one another for stability. Repeat this process with side B and top B. Position the boxes so that the open sides face each other to form your booth.
