- 1). Make sure all of the burners are turned off and cool to the touch. Then, lift the burners up and pull to unplug them. After you have the burners out of the way, lift out the drip pans.
- 2). Scrape away as much of the dried-on chunks and grease as you can with a stiff-bristled brush or scouring pad.
- 3). Move to a well-ventilated area or outside and put on your rubber gloves. Spray the drip pans with oven cleaner, coating them entirely.
- 4). Place the drip pans in a large trash bag and tie it shut. The bag should be air tight so that no fumes escape.
- 5). Allow the drip pans to remain sealed in the trash bag for approximately one day, then remove the drip pans. Be sure to wear your rubber gloves when handling them and avoid the fumes as much as possible.
- 6). Scrub the drip pans in warm water and dish-washing detergent. Use your scrub brush or scouring pad to thoroughly clean the pans. When you’re finished, if the drip pans aren’t completely clean, repeat the process until you get the desired results.
