- 1). Sand the piece thoroughly with 300-grit sand paper to remove the Minwax Polycrylic finish. This can be very messy, so work outside.
- 2). Wipe the piece down with a wet cloth to remove the dust and debris.
- 3). Open up the primer and pour some into a paint tray.
- 4). Paint the entire piece with a coat of primer.
- 5). Allow the primer to dry overnight.
- 6). Paint the first coat of acrylic paint and allow it to dry overnight; then apply a second coat.
