- 1). Abrade the white fiberboard to promote adhesion. Sand it until it feels rough.
- 2). Wipe the fiberboard with a tack cloth.
- 3). Protect areas adjacent to the white fiberboard, using painter's tape. Spread drop cloths over the floor.
- 4). Use a roller to coat the abraded fiberboard with latex primer. Avoid flaws by smoothing the damp bonding primer with a polyester brush. Move the brush vertically, applying consistent, gentle pressure. Allow the fiberboard to dry for two hours.
- 5). Wash the bonding primer from the polyester brush, using clean water.
- 6). Paint the fiberboard just as you primed it. Allow the fiberboard to dry for two hours.
