- 1). Scrape away the dried paint bubble with a stiff putty knife. Squirt degreaser on the area with a spray bottle. Scrub the area with a scouring pad. Sponge off all paint particles and liquid.
- 2). Allow the area to dry. Sand the area smooth with 120-grit sandpaper. Run a hand over the area to feel for any rough edges. Smooth out these edges with sandpaper. Dust the area with a dust brush and use a tack cloth to remove the finer dust particles.
- 3). Paint the area with a stain-blocking primer using a paint brush or mini-paint roller. Allow the area to dry. Wait 24 hours to see if the bubble recurs.
- 4). Skim coat the area with putty using a stiff putty knife. Allow to dry. Lightly sand the putty smooth with 150-grit sandpaper. Apply a coat of primer over the putty. Paint over the primer with two coats of finish paint.
