- 1). Open all windows and doors in the room, making sure the area is well ventilated, then put on a pair of rubber gloves. Rubber gloves will aid in keeping bleach and dirt off your hands.
- 2). Pour one part bleach and one part water into a spray bottle and spray onto the grooves where the grout is laid. Do this to the entire area you want to clean and let the bleach solution stand and work its magic for 10 to 15 minutes. Spray a decent amount of solution onto the tile grout and use more spray on areas containing heavy dirt and grime.
- 3). Grab a toothbrush and brush back and forth repeatedly in the grout grooves. The constant brushing should produce a foaming action and will help lift the grime from the surface of the floor.
- 4). Pour water onto the entire area and then use a mop to clean up loose dirt and the bleach and water solution. Repeat as necessary, making sure to rinse the mop thoroughly in between mops. Once the dirt and bleach solution has been sufficiently removed, rinse the mop in water and go over the surface again.
- 5). Let the surface air dry. Once the smell of bleach has left the room, the windows and doors may be closed. The floor grout should have a new shine. This process can be repeated regularly to prevent future buildup.
