- 1). Cover the nut that holds the existing shower head to the existing shower arm with a dish rag. Grip the nut with a pair of pliers and untwist the nut until the shower head can be removed by hand.
- 2). Place the nut of the extension arm on the existing shower arm threads and tighten it with your fingers.
- 3). Cover the nut with the rag and tighten it with the pliers. Reattach the shower head to the threads at the end of the shower extension arm. Screw the nut onto the thread with your fingers and then use the rag and pliers to tighten it.
