- 1). Select 1-inch plain PVC pipe. Look for pipes that don't have slightly larger ends designed to connect pipes together.
- 2). Measure the width of the window. Add 8 inches. Mark and cut the PVC pipe using a hacksaw and a saw box.
- 3). Apply PVC glue to the outside edge of the end of the PVC pipe. Apply PVC glue to the inside edge of the end cap. Press the end cap onto the PVC pipe. Repeat for the second side.
- 4). Take the pipe outside after the glue dries to an area where you can paint the pipe. Spray paint the pipe with a plastic spray paint in the color you prefer. Apply several light coats and allow each coat to dry for an hour. This will build up into a durable coating. Allow the last coat to dry 24 hours.
