- 1). Place your hands under cold or warm running water immediately after applying Capzasin. Do not use hot water because it may heat the Capzasin further and cause skin irritation.
- 2). Remove your hands from the water and apply a generous amount of liquid or bar soap.
- 3). Rub your hands together to create a thick lather. Scrub the front and back of your hands thoroughly, and get between your fingers and underneath your nails. Continue scrubbing your hands for 20 seconds.
- 4). Rinse your hands under running water and dry them off with a clean towel.
- 5). Apply vinegar to your hands to remove any remaining residue. The substance in this medication does not dissolve easily in water, and the vinegar will help break down and remove the remaining capsaicin oils. Wash the front and back of your hands with the vinegar and get in between your fingers and under your nails.
