Since its opening in 1982, the 16th Street Mall has played a dominate role in the atmosphere of downtown Denver. The mile-long pedestrian mall has been consistently rated as the No. 1 visitor attraction in the Mile High City, according to the Denver Downtown Partnership, and its free MallRide shuttles transport 55,000 people every weekday. With 16 blocks of popular shops and hotels to choose from, locating budget-friendly lodging can be challenging. Fortunately, because there are many choices, it is possible to find a night's stay to fit nearly everyone's budget. - Located right in the middle of the 16th Street Mall, the Marriott offers easy access to the best the area has to offer, including restaurants, drinks and, of course, shopping. The nearby Denver Pavilion houses some of the country's biggest names in fashion, but there are also many unique boutique stores within walking distance that offer items only available in Denver. The hotel offers a restaurant, fitness center, free Internet and a business center. Special rate packages are available and include such items as deluxe rooms, complimentary parking, free breakfast and complimentary drinks and appetizers. Rates range from $139 to $199 per night, as of 2010.
