- 1). Put on eye protection and a face mask. These will make it easier to clean falling dust from below.
- 2). Set up the stepladder under the beam. Plug in the vacuum and install the brush attachment at the end of the hose, then put the canister vacuum safely on the paint tray of the ladder.
- 3). Climb the ladder and turn on the vacuum.
- 4). Run the brush attachment along all exposed surface of the beams, including the top. For old dust, the brush might need to be applied forcefully to loosen the accumulated debris.
