- 1). The following applies to every room of your home:
Clean light fixtures, windows (inside and out), floors, baseboards, sweep vents, wipe down shelving, and vaccum.
Working from the top of the room (light fixtures) to the bottom of the room (floors) should be the order you clean. - 2). You will need to clean all appliances that stay in the house. Pulling out the refridgerator and oven to clean behind is a must. If you have a self cleaning oven, turn it on the night before because it will take a while until it is cooled down. If you do not, spray oven cleaner on the inside of your oven and let it sit before you wipe down. Do not forget to clean the drip pans in the oven or the range hood and light if applicable.
- 3). Make sure all outdoor lighting is free of any grime and all cobwebs are knocked down.
If your carpet is stained, it might be worth it to hire a professional carpet cleaner to clean your carpets. A friend of mine got back charged because they took a black light to her carpet and it was not clean enough. If you have paint on your walls, make sure you contact your housing office to see what paint they use and where to get it and paint it back to that color. Obvious damages that you can't fix, you will still probably get charged for.
Good luck and happy cleaning!
