- 1). Develop the main body shape and perspective of the car you want to draw. Drawing a car from a side view is easiest for the beginner. As you get better, you can try drawing your car from different angles.
- 2). Sketch the main shape of your vehicle. Begin at the hood and draw toward the windshield. Continue to draw the slant of the windshield and the roof, and slant the line downward into the rear of the car. This will give you the top half of the car.
- 3). Draw a new line toward the bottom of the page, making up the rear end of the car. Draw the bottom of the car with two upside-down U-shapes for the wheel area. End this line at the front of the car, then draw two circles for the tires. Draw a smaller circle inside each of the tires for the wheels. Draw an X inside each of the smaller circles for the wheel covers.
- 4). Draw two vertical lines on the side panel of the car for the door. Draw a circle at the front of the car to make a headlight. Add shading to the car to bring out depth and help give it definition.
- 5). Color your car using colored pencils. After you apply your main color, go back over the colors and add darker areas of color to create a metallic look and to help add depth to the shading you created on the drawing before you colored. This will give more intensity to the shading and add definition to your car.
