- 1). Click on the "Tools" option from the Outlook Express menu bar. Select "Accounts." Click the "Add" button. Select "Mail."
- 2). Complete the Internet Connection Wizard by entering all of the email settings for your PeoplePC email account. For example, enter your PeoplePC email address in the "Email Address" field. In the "Account Name" field, enter your "@peoplepc.com" email address again. Enter your PeoplePC password and mail server settings. The mail server type is "POP3." The "Incoming Mail Server" is "pop.peoplepc.com." The "Outgoing Mail Server" is "smtpauth.peoplepc.com."
- 3). Click "Finish" when you reach the end of the connection wizard.
- 4). Click on your "Mail" tab. Highlight the PeoplePC email account that was just set up. Click the "Properties" button.
- 5). Click the "Servers" tab. Select the option "My Server Requires Authentication." Click the "Settings" button that is located beside that option. Enter your PeoplePC email address and People PC password in the designated fields. Click "OK."

You can set up third-party email addresses if you like. However, you will not be able to send mail with your third-party email accounts unless the outgoing mail server settings for PeoplePC are entered when setting up the account. PeoplePC does not allow SMTP relay messages. If you try to send mail with a third-party email address over a People PC connection, you will receive an "Error 554 Relay Access Denied" message. You do not have to change the third-party "Incoming Mail Server" setting, only the "Outgoing SMTP Server." - 8). Click on the "Tools" option from the Outlook Express menu bar. Select "Send and Receive." Choose the email address for which you want to check messages. Wait for the messages to be downloaded into your inbox.
- 1). Click on "Tools" from the Entourage menu bar. Select "Accounts." Click the "New" button. Select "Mail."
- 2). Enter all of the email settings for your PeoplePC account. See Step 2 of the previous section for email settings.
- 3). Select the option that is labeled "Click Here for Advanced Sending Options." Select the option to "Override Default SMTP Port." Enter "587" in the port number box.
- 4). Select the option "SMTP Requires Authentication." Select "Use Same Settings As Receiving Mail Server" if you are setting up a PeoplePC email account. If you are setting up a third party email account select the option to "Log On Using." You can then enter your PeoplePC "Account ID" and "Password" in the designated boxes.
- 5). Click the "-" in the top left hand corner to close the advanced sending options window. Click "OK" to save your changes.
