- 1). Open the Settings menu by clicking the gear-shaped icon in the top-right corner. Select "Labs." A list of available Labs will appear within the main panel.
- 2). Find the "Canned Responses" Lab, then click the "Enable" radio button. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click "Save Changes."
- 3). Click the "Compose Mail" button. A "Canned Responses" link will have been added below the subject field. Type your automatic reply within the main text field. Click the link to open a drop-down menu, and select "New Canned Response." A pop-up dialog will appear. Type the name for your response into the dialog, and click "Ok." Your canned response has now been saved.
- 4). Click the "Create a Filter" link beside the search field at the top of the page. Type an email address into the "From" field. If you would like your canned responses to be sent to all addresses from a specific domain name, simply type in the domain name. For example, if you wanted an automatic reply for all Gmail users, you would enter "gmail.com." Click the "Next Step" button when finished.
- 5). Check the "Send Canned Response" box, and select the canned response created in step three. Click the "Create Filter" button. All emails that fall within your filter will now receive an automatic reply.
