Things Your Plumber Won"t Tell You

Plumbing problems are some of the most common household issues. The thing about these problems, however, is that they would have to be resolved right away because the services provided by the plumbing system are always needed. That's why plumbers are being called in all the time.

But did you know that there are some things that your friendly plumber might not be telling you? Here are just a few of those things that they might be hiding from you:

Technically He's Not Even a Plumber

Have you checked if the guy that you have been hiring all these years to fix your plumbing problems is licensed? There are many handymen out there fixing plumbing issues, and while they might be skilled enough to take care of the simple problems, they might have a hard time handling complex ones. You should at least make sure that the guy you are hiring is experienced.

They Won't Do the Job Themselves

When you get in touch with a plumber, you have to make sure that they will be sending over someone who has experience and know-how. Sometimes they would just send over an apprentice who is still learning the ropes. That means they are more prone to mistakes, which could make your problems worse.

They Don't Do Cleanup

Sometimes repairing your plumbing problem requires tearing up your wall or making a hole on it. That's needed in order to get to the plumbing lines. The problem is that sometimes, the plumbers will not do cleanup the mess that they have made.

When a plumber tells you that they have to do some damage in order to repair the plumbing problem, they also have to make it clear if they are willing to repair whatever they've created in the process. It would be better to know that first.

You Can Order the Parts

Usually parts would have to be ordered and most of the time, homeowners leave the choice to the plumbers. Homeowners actually have a say in what kind of part would be ordered and used. A good plumber would ask your opinion on the part to be ordered, especially on the ones that would show.

You Would Have to Wait

When you encounter a plumbing problem, it's usually an emergency, but the plumber might already have several clients lined up. The problem is that they won't tell you that. You have to make it clear to them when they can and need to come to your place. If a plumber can't give you a straight answer, then it's likely that they have other clients and you would have to wait a while. Better look for someone else.

You Could Have Solved the Problem on Your Own

Sometimes the plumbing problem is so simple you can definitely do it on your own, but the plumber won't tell you that. Why would they? There is no money to be made when it comes to giving out free advice, so they just keep that to themselves.
