- 1). Launch LimeWire.
- 2). Press the "Search" tab and click on the "Filter File Extensions" option. Enter ".MP3" in the extensions field and press the "Add Extension" button. Click the "Remove" option next to any file that is not MP3. This sets LimeWire to download only MP3 files, since that file type is compatible with the iPod nano.
- 3). Configure LimeWire to add songs to iTunes. Click on the "My Files" tab and choose "Add audio files I downloaded from LimeWire to iTunes." Click "OK".
- 4). Search LimeWire for songs to add to your nano. Select "All" at the top of the LimeWire interface and select "Audio" as the type of file you are searching for. Enter a song title or artist name and song title in the search field. Press the "Search" button. Click on a result in the main pane to begin downloading. Once the song has downloaded, it will be added to your iTunes Library.
- 5). Connect your iPod nano to the computer, using a USB cable, and launch iTunes if it doesn't open automatically. The iTunes software will list your device name and all of its playlists in the left pane.
- 6). Click on the "Music" folder listed under "Library" in iTunes. Find the songs that you just downloaded from iTunes.
- 7). Drag a song from the Music folder and drop it on one of the playlist names listed underneath your device name in the left pane. The song will sync to your iPod nano.
