The High Museum of Art is a world-class museum with a large permanent collection. The museum's permanent collection spans multiple floors and a range of styles including African, American, European, Folk and Contemporary and Photography sections.

Currently, Bank of America also runs a program that grants free admission to cardholders the first weekend of every month. On Thursday evenings, the High stays open late and and offers half priced admission from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center operates more like a gallery than a museum in that it doesn't house a permanent collection. They do, however, host 8 - 10 unique exhibitions per year.
Current Exhibitions: Painters Painting, running through June 24, 2012. This exhibition draws its inspiration from Painters Painting, a 1972 documentary which examines American art movements from Abstract Expressionism to Pop.
Pricing: Members are free, non-members are only $5; children and seniors are $3; Children under 3 are free. On Thursdays the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center offers free admission for everyone.
