- 1). Update Minecraft to the latest version. This should occur automatically upon starting the game up, but if it doesn't you will need to locate your "Bin" folder in the location where you installed Minecraft. By default, the path should be:
• Widows 7 - C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin
• Windows Vista & XP – C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Application Data\.minecraft\bin
• Mac OS/X – ~/Library/Application Support/.minecraft/bin
• Linux - /home/Your Username/.minecraft/bin
Once you’ve found the "Bin" folder, delete it, then start up Minecraft normally. - 2). Download a seating modification, such as ChairCraft, which you may download from the Bukkit website (see Resources).
- 3). Return to the "Bin" folder mentioned in Step 1. Open the bin folder. Find a file called minecraft.jar, click it and choose "Open With..." then select "WinRAR Archiver" or the .jar opening program of your choice. The .jar file will open much like you would see a folder open. Drag and drop the ChairCraft.jar file you downloaded (you can find this where your browser usually saves downloaded files) into this new window. Close the window.
- 4). Start up Minecraft, and go into any world you want or create a new one. Then craft/spawn either a stair block or a stone slab block (these blocks are the chair itself), and place it in the world.
- 5). To sit in the chair, you will need to crouch (hold down the "Shift" key by default) and right click. To stand again, right click the seat.
