- 1). Draw a rectangle on the felt with the fabric pencil and using the ruler measuring 45 inches long by 18 inches wide. Cut out the rectangle. Draw another rectangle on the felt that measures 18 inches by 12 inches and cut it out.
- 2). Stack the small rectangle on top of the large rectangle, matching the 18-inch ends, and pin them together. Sew a zigzag stitch around the three outer edges of the matched sides of the small felt rectangles 1/4-inch from the edge.
- 3). Place the small rectangle in front of you on a flat surface in a horizontal position. Draw a horizontal line from one edge of the square to the other with the fabric pencil through the center of the square, using the ruler as a guide.
- 4). Sew through the pencil line with a straight stitch, using the sewing machine, beginning and ending the line of stitching with 1-inch of back-stitching.
