- 1). Pull 5 to 6 feet of line from your fishing reel. This give you enough room to work on the line.
- 2). Determine the depth at which you are fishing. Put a 1 oz. sinker on the line for every 20 feet of water depth.
- 3). Slide the sinkers up the line to the last eye of your fishing rod. Reel in the line and keep it tight.
- 4). Slide a bobber up your line until it is halfway between the end of the line and the sinkers.
- 5). Tie your hook to the end of the line using several knots. Cut off excess fishing line with your scissors.
- 6). Slide the hook in the front end of your soft bait. Push it along the length of the bait until it's halfway through. Push the hook's barb out the other side of the soft bait.
- 7). Cast your line in the water, and watch your bobber. Set the hook when the bobber disappears under the water's surface.
