- 1). Click "Start" on the bottom left corner of your screen. Click "Music."
- 2). Double-click "iTunes Music" from the Music window on your desktop.
- 3). Find the song from which you want to remove the read-only attribute, and right-click it. Select "Properties" from the menu that pops up. Depending on how your music files are organized, you may need to double-click on the folder with the artist's name or the album folder until you reach the song you are trying to change.
- 4). Click on the box next to "Read Only" to remove the check mark. The box is located at the bottom of the Properties dialog box next to Attributes. Click "Apply."
- 5). Click "OK" to close the Properties dialog box.
