To anyone who has been trying to figure out the secret to getting six pack abs, I feel your pain! I have been trying for years to understand my body and the way different foods, beer, sugars affect my weight.
After so trying so much crap on the market I think I am finally starting to understand just how our bodies really work!..
..
and it's about Time!!! Ok, so here is the deal, this is a compilation of what I think works well...
at least for me.
1)The number one issue is DIET! Diet is so unbelievably massive when it comes to having a six pack.
I used to only eat 3 times a day but now I am enjoying 6 small snacks of high protein meals.
Before I was consuming way to much sugar and sodium into my diet, I didn't even realise I was doing it, it was only until I had read about different nutrition values that I started seeing progress in weight loss.
2)The 2nd is mindset I used to go to the gym with the mind set I was going to have a really good workout and build muscle.
the truth is I would, but the problem was , I wasn't focusing on exercises that encourage the fat to burn around my stomach, in fact I was limiting myself to isolation exercises which until recently have found that they don't give you the results I wanted for six pack abs 3)The 3rd is Abs Exercises Abs exercises...
What a myth they are.
My old routine was do a workout, then do about 15 mins on the abs, and a lot of those exercises were the wrong ones! After learning about what crunches can produce results , I never really made much progress.
Did you know some exercises can make your waste bigger???? Crazy! Anyhow, Now I now what ones work at trimming my waste line.
4)The 4th is Weights I used to do a lot of cardio.
Run 4 times a week but found that the more I ran the more fit I become so for me to reach the same results I had to run longer and longer..
..
this quickly became boring! I then learned about weight training to help with weight loss.
I quickly discovered that by building more muscle you would burn more calories.
Before too long I felt like I was in the best shape of my life.
5)The 5th is Interval training Interval training? What on earth is that? Interval training is where you keep a high heart tempo and continually move onto the next exercise without having too much rest.
Once I include super sets into my training I quickly found myself getting stronger and leaner.
This is one very important step to include in your weight loss journey.
6) 6) The 6th is cardio Yes, cardio...
You see, I really don't enjoy doing lots of cardio.
So now what I do is train 3 times a week with weights and 1 40min cardio session.
The reason for this is simple.
Studies show that by doing weight's, your metabolism will continue to work for up to 48hrs...
so with that being said this is how my workout week is structured.
Mon (weights) Tues (off) Wed (weights) Thur(off) Fri(weights) Sat(cardio) Sun (off) I really enjoy working out like this because now I don't get bored with my workouts and train 10times harder when I am at the gym.
After following this program for 16 weeks, I have dropped over 19kg and It feels absolutely amazing to be fit and lean again.
I think the problem with a lot of people when trying to lose weight is that, they think by just doing a lot more cardio you will drop weight, that's why so many people fail! Cardio will never create the body that consistently burns calories 24/7 like weights will.
I think it is good to have a balance between both.
What ever shape you're in, I hope you find what works for you..
