As well as doing the standard dating thing (bars, clubs, in some case, work) you've decided to try your hand at a dating site.
Now, it should be noted that there is still a bit of a stigma to online dating.
However, recent sites such as e-harmony have truly gotten the science of matching you with the right person down.
And for some who have very busy careers, it is a viable option.
But it is not instant.
First off, be sure to take the time with your profile.
Be honest, post a good NATURAL picture.
You don't want to post a formal pic as that may come off as being stiff.
So, now that you've spent the time and have a quality profile (this is the most important part), remembering to be honest but mysterious at the same time, what's next? Don't expect to find the right one right off the bat.
In fact, with women members of dating sites receiving fifty to two hundred answers to their profiles it might take a while for the one you like to respond back.
Don't get disheartened, she's just going through everything.
Patience with online dating is a virtue, that is if you want quality.
Have a proactive approach when it comes to online dating.
Focusing on one woman would reduce your chances of landing a response.
You want to respond and talk to as many that look interesting as possible.
Remember here too, of course we all want the "perfect" mate.
THIS IS A DREAM.
And likely will not happen.
The moral here is to not be TOO specific because then you won't stand a chance of finding someone to date.
Above all, once you ARE talking to someone, take it slow.
You don't want to ask to meet after a week.
Talk back and forth for about a month.
If there is true interest, then set up a physical date.
Also, don't forget to talk to your other matches.
It appears as though I may be getting a bit ahead of myself.
All of this is useless without a solid profile to start with.
