- 1). Push the cart into position so that it can reach the charger.
- 2). Open up the area on the golf cart that houses the batteries and check the fluid levels. This is usually under a seat. Open the fluid lid and look to see if there is any water. If not, fill the water compartment only to the point where the water covers the electronic plates. Use distilled water. Wait to completely fill it until after the batteries are charged. Do this for each battery, and close the lids on the batteries after you check them all.
- 3). Check the battery connectors for any corrosion. If there is any, wipe it off with a rag.
- 4). Plug the charger up to the golf cart and into an outlet.
- 5). Wait at least eight hours to get a good charge on the golf cart.
- 6). Unplug the charger and test the golf cart to make sure the charger was able to charge it. If it didn't, you might have to replace the batteries. If it did charge, now you can add more water to the compartments.
