How to Install a Canopy on a Four-Poster Bed

    • 1). Remove the top of the posts. Each post will have a little extra piece of wood attached the bottom to fit into each post hole. Measure the inside length of the bed posts from post hole to post hole. Record the length.

    • 2). Measure the width of the bed from post hole to post hole. Record the width.

    • 3). Cut two pieces of the wood for the length between the posts. Repeat this step for the width between the posts.

    • 4). Press the circle hooks into each end of every piece of wood. Screw the hooks into the wood so they are securely fastened.

    • 5). Fix each wooden pole on each post. Align the the circle hook so they are directly over the post holes. Put the tops of the posts back onto the post holes over the circle hooks to make sure the posts fit well.

    • 6). Measure the height from the floor to the top of the poles, and add 4 inches to the number to the total height.

    • 7). Fold 3 inches of fabric over at the top of each panel. Add a strip of fabric tape along the entire length of the folded fabric. Do this to each panel.

    • 8). Run an iron, carefully, over the fabric. This will adhere the folded fabric to itself. The wooden poles will be fed through the folded fabric.

    • 9). Fold 1 inch of fabric up on the bottom of each panel. Again add the strip of fabric tape along the length of the fabric. Iron the fabric carefully to adhere the fabric tape. This will create an easy hem and a clean look.

Feed the poles through each fabric panel. Place the poles on the posts again, and replace the tops of the posts to secure the poles. Allow the canopy to hang around the bed, or pull the canopy sheets to each pole and tie with a ribbon.
