Guide Review - Regifting Revival! by Jodi Newbern - Book Review
March 20, 2010 An avid proponent of regifting and reusing, I was curious to read the Regifting Revival! I wanted to know if I was regifting as I should, or was I forgetting some important detail that could come back to haunt me - later.
The book has a very easy-to-hold shape and size with page layouts unlike most other soft cover manuals. Within its pages, the author incorporates a smart use of colors and bullets, large readable text, various fonts, cute graphics and chapter title bars.
From the folksy front cover all the way to the back page, this book is definitely packaged to grab your attention - and that it does. Jodi Newbern writes with ease and injects a bit of humor in every page, so you can enjoy learning the art of regifting - a topic that might easily be dry reading otherwise.
Cover to cover, this book was a pleasure to read. I thought I knew a lot about regifting - I was wrong. The author covers so much more than the basics and gives the reader insight from the receiving end of the gift, as well as how to choose the perfect item from your regifting stock, for the (right) person on your list. And of course, how you wrap it is just as important. She includes must-know tips on what items can or should never be regifted. I expected to learn more about regifting and I did, but I was surprised to also find valuable information on gift-giving in general.
If you've been toying with the idea of regifting but aren't sure if you'd be a good regifter or not - this book will help you sort it all out. If you just want tips on how to choose the right gift or if you want to know what kind of gift-giver you are (to improve or not) - this book will tell you. You'll also enjoy her Regifting Proverbs - good wisdom to gift by.
It's definitely a gift-giving manual you'll refer to time and time again. In fact, the book itself would make a nice gift for someone on your gift list - so avoid bending the pages, that is, if you want to pass it on later.
