- 1). Set up the ironing board and heat the iron to the temperature directed on the starch instruction.
- 2). Spray a light coat of starch across the entire surface of the shirt and allow to dry for three minutes. Iron the shirt normally to remove wrinkles and to set the starch.
- 3). Spray a second light layer of starch and fold one side of the shirt to create a line running from the shoulder, through the pocket and down to the hem of the shirt. Move the hot iron along the edge of the fold to set the crease. Make a second pass with the iron, pressing it firmly for three seconds along each section of the crease, adding more starch as necessary. Repeat on the opposite side of the shirt.
- 4). Spray a layer of starch across the back of the shirt. Fold the shirt in half lengthwise, creating a line that runs along the exact center line of the shirt, from the top to the hem. Move the hot iron along the fold to make the crease, then go back over the crease with the iron, pressing it firmly along each section for three seconds.
- 5). Spray a layer of starch along each half of the back of the shirt. Fold so that one side seam lines up with the middle crease along the back of the shirt. Move the hot iron along the fold to make the crease. Repeat on the opposite side of the shirt.
- 6). Create a crease across the top of the sleeve, laying it flat and smoothing from the bottom seam. Press firmly to make a crease along both edges. Repeat on the opposite sleeve.
