There are times when we have a new fresh opportunity to come close to God - and closer to God.
This could one such moment for you!Faith comes through hearing - and hearing the Word of God, we read in Romans - Paul's letter in the New Testament - and you will find this in Chapter 10.
If you do not have faith - or if you are aware that you do not have enough faith - or that you need more faith - then be in the right place to address that matter.
In Romans too, we read of how Paul enjoyed that new life in Christ - and he says to us - "Present your bodies - and as your mind is transformed and renewed - you will come to know more and more of the Will of God - and we always discover that His Will is good and pleasing and holy.
Again you will find these truths in Romans Chapter 12.
The writer of Psalm 84 knew something of this as he says - "How lovely (beloved) is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty.
"For the Psalmist - the dwelling place of God was the Temple - and the Psalmist loved God - and the Psalmist love the Temple of God.
We have seen over the years how Paul so loved Jesus - and how he also loved the Church and held a high view of the Church.
The Psalmist cannot put into words how he loves the House of God, and how he loves meeting with the people of God.
It is inexpressible - indescribable - but what he does know is that it is lovely.
He gives us the impression that there is nothing on the face of the earth which can compare with meeting with believers in fellowship to Worship.
I have not met many people who pine for God - who yearn for godly fellowship - as the Psalmist does in verse 2.
Every part of him wants to be in the courts of God.
His heart and flesh are crying out for the living God - nothing else but God will satisfy him.
There is a sense here too that no matter how he meets with God and how close and intimate the Communion and Fellowship is - the thirst for more would never leave him.
The Psalmist has this deep desire for the House of God - for the place of Worship and Prayer - because he knows that there he can find the living God and experience more of the living God.
He would know the Temple well in Jerusalem - and he thinks of those sparrows and swallows.
The sparrow can find a home there in the very courts of the Lord.
The swallow can build a nest for herself there - and bring up her young in the House of God.
What an aim - what a goal - to dwell in the fellowship of the people of God - and to see our young people being brought up in Christ.
To be near your altar - to be at the very heart and center of what Jesus is doing - there we can see what God's Will is - we can hear what Jesus is saying - we can know something of how the Holy Spirit is moving.
When he thinks of a place near the altar - when he considers being at the very heart and center of things - it is as though he immediately receives a fresh vision of God - O Lord Almighty, my King, my God.
Here is a man who wants and desires what not many people seek and aim for in these days.
Here is a man whose goal and focus is to be admired.
Here is a man who knows the value of a reward which lasts.
