- Proper posture is ensuring that each part of your body is aligned with every other part. When standing, you should be able to draw a straight line through your ear, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle.
- Proper breathing involves inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly. Proper breathing rids your body of carbon dioxide and other toxins more effectively than short, shallow breathing; it also increases the flow of oxygen to your muscles and brain.
- Yoga strengthens back and abdominal muscles, helping your body maintain proper posture and reduce back and neck pain. Deep breathing is also practiced in yoga.
- Tai Chi involves smooth, fluid movements that improve not only your posture, but strength and flexibility, as well. The rhythmic breathing also improves blood circulation.
