- 1). Familiarize yourself with the specific concepts of kundalini yoga. Kundalini is a very concentrated area of yoga practice that deals with hot and cool energies of the body. When these energies are tapped and loosened, the kundalini energy is able to rise.
- 2). Enroll in a reputable program. According to the Kundalini Research Institute, all three of the levels of teaching must be completed before you are certified as a professional kundalini yoga teacher. The fundamentals of level one are: kriya and meditation, yogic philosophy, anatomy and physiology and values. Level two is focused on discipline and the kundalini lifestyle. Level three continues to explore the study and lifestyle of kundalini yoga.
- 3). Research and study. Many local and national yoga centers, or ashrams, offer courses of study to become a certified kundalini teacher. Most instruction programs advise that courses generally take six to seven months and require a 220-hour program and a 300-hour program to achieve instructor status.
