You have just started your band? You do not have the money to promote it in big scale? You almost feel it is like you need to put the cart before the horse if you want to make it big in the industry? First get a right name for the band that sounds modern, hep and appeals to the target audience. Appeal is the most important aspect as the name is the first impression you can give to your customers as to who you are. The name should take into account the music you play, the type of places you intend to play and the type of people you plan to play for. For example you will not keep name like "Rock Invasion" if you want to target say churches in your area and want to play proper choir music. Well this is an extreme example, but you must have got the point.

Once the name is there, get few original tracks ready along with some popular tracks in the genre you are trying to target. Record these tracks and upload the same on YouTube. Keep the videos not more than 5 mins and let them end with your contact details. Try and get at least 3-4 of these tracks uploaded. Then create another account and upload another 3-4 of your videos in the account. This way you can create 5 min clips of at least 30 to 40 videos and upload them in different accounts of YouTube in the name of each of your band members. Once you have done this ensure that you rate each of your videos through different account name, giving a five star rating and also post a comment on them like "Awesome Video" or "Great Music" etc.

The next step is to create video comments on top performing videos in the category. So in this case if there are videos by other bands that have a large viewership on YouTube simply create a video to provide positive comments on the video. Post your video comment on their video. Once people see a video comment they will click on the same and in the event end up seeing your videos. This way you can literally piggyback on the viewership of that person and get lots of people watching your video. If they like what you have for them, they will call you and soon you will start getting enquiries for your band.

Finally become a member on Facebook and twitter. Encourage people looking at your video to become your friend on Facebook or follow you on twitter. This way you can promote your services to your friends on Facebook and twitter. You can also do promotions and maybe sell your original tracks to them.
