- 1). Remove the Integra model's engine cover with a screw driver. There are small screws that hold the cover to the engine. The screws on the Integra are located on the side of the engine.
- 2). Locate the spark plug wires that plug directly into each side of the engine block. Directly above the wires is a trim cover. Unscrew and remove the cover.
- 3). Pull on the end of the spark plug wire connected to the engine. This is a larger rubber end that attaches to the spark plug.
- 4). Attach the socket, extender and socket wrench to the spark plug. Turn the wrench counter clockwise two to three times to loosen the spark plug. Remove the socket and unscrew the spark plug the rest of the way.
- 5). Remove any corrosion or debris from the spark plug wire with the wire brush. Lightly scrub the inside of the spark plug wire socket.
- 6). Apply a thin coat of anti-seize lubricant to the new spark plug's thread.
- 7). Insert the spark plug into the engine and turn it clockwise to tighten. Place the socket on the plug and tighten it 1/4 turn. Place the spark plug wire back on the spark plug.
- 8). Continue replacing the spark plugs one by one around the Acura Intega model's engine.
- 9). Replace the trim and engine covers.
