- 1). Lift the hood and prop it open. Thread the service hose onto the bottle of R134a. Turn the valve closed to puncture the top of the bottle. Open the valve slightly to force air out of the service hose. Close the valve before attaching the service hose to the vehicle.
- 2). Locate the low side valve on the compressor hose. The hose is silver and the valve has a black cap on it. Remove the cap.
- 3). Attach the service hose to the low side valve.
- 4). Turn on the Malibu, then turn the air conditioner on full blast.
- 5). Open the valve on the bottle of R134a. This will suck the R134a into the air compressor.
- 6). Close the valve once the pressure gauge reads 40 psi. Turn off the Malibu. Remove the service hose from the low side valve and place the black cap back on the valve.
