- 1). Unplug the power cord. Open the door.
- 2). Remove the four screws around the inside edge of the door.
- 3). Pull the front panel away from the MDE2600AYW dryer cabinet to disconnect it. Lift the panel up and set aside.
- 4). Disconnect the wire connector leading to the door switch.
- 5). Remove the four screws holding the shroud to the Maytag dryer cabinet. Lift the shroud out through the front.
- 6). Pull the belt off of the pulleys. Remove the belt from the drum. Lift the drum out of the dryer cabinet.
- 7). Unhook the spring at the base of the idler pulley arm. Remove the screw holding the idler pulley assembly to the motor support bracket.
- 8). Pull the idler pulley assembly out of the dryer.
