- 1). Sand down the white paint. Use wet sandpaper in the finest grit that you can find, 2,000 grit sandpaper works well to remove the paint without marring the surface of your gray bumper. Rub softly so that you do not damage the clear coat on top of your gray bumper. LIghtly rub until the white is completely gone.
- 2). Polish the area with a clean cloth and auto polish. Once the paint is rubbed off, there may be a dull area on the bumper. Polishing it will help to restore the shine of the clear coat.
- 3). Apply a car wax with a clean cloth. Apply a small but even coat of wax onto the area. This will help to restore a shine to your bumper. Allow up to 30 minutes for the wax to dry.
- 4). Buff the area with a soft, clean cloth.
