- 1). Attach gauge hoses to the high and low side valves on the air conditioner compressor. The high side is the small connector and it is connected to the red hose. The low side is the large connector and it is connected to the blue hose.
- 2). Open both access valves on the freon lines of the gauge manifold. Open the blue side first and then the red side.
- 3). Make sure the gauge reads zero, ensuring that all the freon is out of the system.
- 4). Hook the center line (yellow hose) on the gauge to the vacuum pump.
- 5). Turn the vacuum pump on.
- 6). When the vacuuming is complete, shut off all the valves and remove the hoses from the compressor.
