- 1). Connect the Ethernet cable to the DSL modem by plugging one end of the cable into the DSL modem's Ethernet port, applying gentle pressure until you hear the cable make a clicking sound, just as if you were plugging in a telephone cord.
- 2). Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into the computer's Ethernet port, again pushing the cable in until the connector makes a slight clicking sound.
- 3). Access the modem's configuration page by typing the modem's local access IP address into an Internet browser and pressing "Enter." Every make and model of modem will have a different access IP; check the underside of the modem for a sticker displaying the access IP if you do not know it. You can also contact the manufacturer of the modem or Verizon technical support and have them inform you of the modem's access IP.
