- 1). Open the IE 8 Web browser.
- 2). Select the "Tools" option on the menu bar at the top of the IE 8 browser window.
- 3). Scroll to the bottom of the Tools' collapsible menu, and click "Internet Options." When the Internet Options' box opens, there will be a list of menu tabs across the top of the box.
- 4). Click the "Security"tab to access the controls and settings' configurations for IE 8.
- 5). Select the ActiveX controls' zone you'd like to configure. Then, select the "Custom Level" option. The Security Settings' will appear in a new pop-up window.
- 6). Locate the "Run ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins" section in the Security Settings' window.
- 7). Click "Enable" for each ActiveX control component you'd like to configure and install to the IE 8 browser, and click "OK." (A user account breach may appear for administrative access approval depending on your Windows operating system. If it does, simply click "Continue" to approve the change.)
