- 1). Rip the video from your DVD using a program such as Format Factory, Easy DVD Ripper or AoA DVD Ripper. Insert your DVD, select it in the program, and click the button there to rip it to your computer.
- 2). Click "Start" in Windows and select "Windows DVD Maker."
- 3). Click "Add items." A browse window comes up. Double-click the video file you just ripped from your DVD. Click "Next."
- 4). Click the "Options" box in the bottom right corner of the program. Select "NTSC" under "Video Format." Click "OK."
- 5). Click "Burn" to burn the DVD with the DVD player drive on your computer into an NTSC format for use on your external DVD player.
