- 1). Open the hood of your Ford Probe. Locate the headlight assembly just inside the engine compartment and remove the protective cover from the rear of the bulb assembly by unscrewing it from the assembly.
- 2). Pull the metal retaining clip straight up off the base of the bulb. Grasp the base of the bulb and pull it out of the headlight assembly.
- 3). Lift the retaining clip on the wiring harness and pull the wiring harness straight out of the electrical connection on the bulb. Insert the wiring harness into the electrical connection on the new bulb. Do not touch the glass portion of the bulb.
- 4). Insert the bulb into the headlight assembly and secure the retaining clip. Screw the protective cover back onto the bulb assembly until it is secure.
- 5). Repeat the process on the opposite headlight if necessary. Close the hood and test the operation of your new headlights.
