How to Embed a Card in Facebook Messaging

    • 1). Navigate to a website that allows you to send greeting cards to friends or family members. Websites such as 123Greetings.com, EGreetings.com and Greeting-Cards.com let you send online greeting cards for virtually any occasion and are free to use.

    • 2). Register for a free account on the greeting card site. Verify your account in the confirmation email you receive from the site. Return to the website and log in with your username and password.

    • 3). Browse the categories of greeting cards and select a card that best suits the occasion for which you want to send someone a card. Double-click the card link or picture to open the card and preview.

    • 4). Enter message text to send along with the greeting card. Type the email address of the recipient in the "To," "Send To" or "Recipient" field. If the site provides a "Send Me a Copy of the Card," "Forward a Copy to Me" or similar option, enable it as well. Click the "Send" or "Send Card" button.

    • 5). Click the link that redirects to the page on which the recipient can view the greeting card. If the preview page does not contain the URL address for the viewing page, check your email inbox for an email with the link.

    • 6). Right-click the image of the greeting card, then click "Save Image" or "Save Images As" on the pop-up menu. Image files generally have either .tif, .jpg or .gif file extensions. Select a folder on your PC in which to save the image file, then click the "OK" or "Save" button.

    • 7). Log in to your Facebook account. Click the "double-folder" message icon at the top of your profile page. Click the "Send a New Message" link.

    • 8). Type the first few letters of the name of the Facebook friend to whom you want to send the greeting card in the "To" field. Once the friend's name appears on the drop-down list, click it.

    • 9). Enter some text to include with the greeting card link in the "Message" field. Click the "paperclip" icon beneath the "Message" field. This will allow you to attach the image file of the card.

Navigate to the folder where you saved the greeting card image file. Highlight the file, then click the "Open" button. Facebook sends the message with the attached image file of the greeting card.
