- 1). Pull the lever control on the KitchenAid to open the door.
- 2). Spin the top spray arm by hand to see if dishes, pots or pans in the bottom rack are blocking the arm from turning. Remove or rearrange these items so the upper spray arm can rotate freely.
- 3). Empty the KitchenAid of all items, close the dishwasher and start a cycle.
- 4). Open the KitchenAid while it is washing to inspect the upper spray arm. If it still isn't spinning, continue troubleshooting.
- 5). Poke the pointed end of a small nail into each of the holes along the spray arm to clear any blockages, then shut the appliance and test its operation. If the spray arm still does not rotate, your KitchenAid likely has an interior mechanical problem, such as a malfunctioning water pump.
- 6). If your dishwasher is still under warranty, contact KitchenAid customer support. Otherwise, contact a repair shop for a service call.
