The Buteyko Breathing Technique and Asthma Action Plan

Asthma Action Plan is split up into three zones (green, yellow and red).

- The green zone is to want to be on a regular basis.  Within this zone, you haven't any asthma signs so you feel good. Still consider your long-term control medication(s) even if you're feeling well.

- The yellow zone indicates that you are going through signs and symptoms.  This is when you need to slow down and keep to the methods including the use of your quick-relief medication to help keep your asthma from getting even worse.

- The red zone signifies you might be going through serious asthma symptoms or an asthma flare-up.

Prevention and long-term control is the vital thing to protecting against asthma attacks. When you create your Asthma Action Plan you should consider some natural treatments, methods and techniques that will help you relax and control your breathing. One of these methods or techniques is Buteyko Breathing Technique. The approach takes its name from the past Ukrainian doctor Konstantin Pavlovich Buteyko who first formulated its concepts all the way through the 1950s. This approach is in accordance with the belief that all sorts of asthma, and a large number of other scientific conditions, are resulting from chronic hyperventilation.  Many of the studies showed patients who used the Buteyko method experienced a reduction in the symptoms of their asthma and many of the patients also were able to reduce their use of inhalers by two uses a day after using the method for six months. Buteyko Berthing Technique should be considered in your Asthma Action Plan
