The New Orleans Museum of Art in City Park is open late on Wednesdays, and in addition to the beautiful exhibits, there are special evening activities, with an emphasis on Latin culture. Among the things coming up in the next few weeks are the Festival of Flavors with Cuban and South American tapas, coffee tastings, and treats from West Indies Restaurant. Accompanying the tasty treats will be live Latin music, and there is a cash bar available.
Other events include films such as "Last Things in New Orleans," a Katrina film. Salsa dancing lessons will be given on August 27.
These special Wednesdays are free to Louisiana residents. For non-residents, the charge is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, and $4 for children 3-17. The Besthoff Sculpture Garden is free for everyone.
The Museum opens at noon; the evening activities begin at 6:30 PM.
