- 1). Carefully and gently remove the first spark plug wire in the front of the engine by following the wire by hand to the end. Wiggle the boot or end of the plug gently. Avoid pulling the wire itself. Remove the boot.
- 2). Use compressed air to blow away dirt from the spark plug area before removing the spark plug.
- 3). Put your wrench and socket on the end of the spark plug. Turn counterclockwise and remove the spark plug.
- 4). Install the new spark plug gently by hand and screw it clockwise, just as you would install a light bulb. Be extremely careful to keep the right angle and avoid stripping the threads. Use your wrench and spark plug socket only as necessary to tighten. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
- 5). Repeat the procedure for the remaining spark plugs.
