- 1). Turn off the power for the dishwasher. Since most dishwashers will be hardwired into the main power, turn off the dishwasher circuit at the main circuit breaker. Locate the switch that controls the dishwasher and move this to the "off" setting. Try to turn the dishwasher on, if it doesn't start, you've selected the right circuit.
- 2). Open the dishwasher door to the fully open position.
- 3). Pull out the upper dishwasher rack, if you want to remove the spray bar in this location. Remove the slide stops at the end of the slide arms by prying them off with a screwdriver. Pull the rack out of the dishwasher. Turn the rack over so you can access the spray bar. Insert a screwdriver into the hub of the arm and press the center spoke to the side with the screwdriver tip. Pull the spray bar off the hub.
- 4). Remove the bottom dishwasher rack, if you wish to remove the lower spray bar. Examine the spray bar hub. Some hubs will have a cap in the middle that covers the spray bar nut. Remove this cover by prying it off with a flat-headed screwdriver, if needed. Use a socket wench and socket to remove the spray bar nut. Pull the spray bar straight up and off the hub.
