- 1). Locate the original manufacturer's horn by opening the hood and looking for four clips on top of the grill. Unfasten the clips and pull out on the grill bottom to access the horns.
- 2). Remove the mounting bolt with an 8 mm socket wrench and disconnect the power connector from the horn. You should now be able to remove the original horn.
- 3). Mount the new horn using the fasteners that came in the kit. You should be able to simply mount the new horn in the old bracket if your kit is a direct factory replacement. However, some horn kits offer large air horns that come with air compressors which you will need to install in a non-standard location.
- 4). Attach the power connector to the new horn using the old wiring harness to retain the factory wiring, if possible. Some aftermarket horn kits may include a custom wiring harness that will require you to use a wire/crimper splitter to connect the wiring.
- 5). Test the new horn to ensure it works. Be aware that horns that use a compressor will be extremely loud.
- 6). Put the grill back in place and refasten the clips after you are finished working on the horn.
